Portal for Online Thesis Processing
ScholarOne-IISc Thesis Processing System was implemented on 24thOctober 2017.
As of May 2022, the tool has processed about 1350 original theses and 1070 revised versions. The Dean, faculty advisors, and Ph.D. students can view the status of processing on their respective dashboards. The auto-reminder feature for pending tasks is one of the key advantages of this system. It has been observed over a one year period that the time elapsed from the submission of the thesis until the receipt of all the reports has come down by almost 50 % (from an average of 5 months to about 2.5 months) when compared with the manual system.
The ScholarOne is one of the leading Work Flow Management Systems from Clarivate Analytics Inc, for the publishing industry and the same has been customized as per IISc’s thesis-processing requirement.
Currently, the processing of Masters thesis by research is also being ported to this platform.
